Salvation Army

The Salvation Army Chicago accepts donations of furniture. The Adult Rehabilitation Center handles all furniture donations as well as clothing and household items. The Economy Shop

The Economy Shop raises money for local charities through selling gently used items such as clothing and furniture. They are looking for smaller items of furniture such as bookcases, chairs, tables and desks. They also will accept chest of drawers and chairs and tables for children. Some charities that they support include Animal Care League, The Children’s Clinic and Thrive Counseling Center. The Economy Shop is located in Oak Park, Illinois.

Chicago Public Schools

Cathedral Shelter of Chicago

Cathedral Shelter of Chicago strives to help the homeless community overcome problems of addiction and unemployment through a wide range of programs such as tutoring and counseling. They also provide clothing and furniture along with Christmas gifts to those who cannot obtain those items on their own. The Second Chance Thrift Store is looking for furniture donations. They cannot accept broken or damaged pieces, waterbeds, kitchen cabinets or hospital beds. The Cathedral Shelter is located at 1668 West Ogden Avenue in Chicago. Society of St. Vincent De Paul

St. Vincent de Paul accepts clothing and furniture donations. Make sure that the furniture you are planning on donating is undamaged and in useable condition. They are located at 651 W. Whether you are donating furniture in Chicago or at another location, keep in mind that when you donate your unwanted furniture that it will go to someone who is in need of it.
